Cole Shepard named to Canadian U-17 team

Penticton, BC: The Penticton Vees are very proud to announce 2002-born forward Cole Shepard has been named as one of the 66 players to Team Canada for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Quispamsis and Saint John, New Brunswick. The event runs from November 3 through 10 and features three Canadian teams, Red, Black and White.

Shepard, from North Vancouver, has played all 12 games for the Vees so far this season recording three assists. He announced his NCAA commitment to Harvard University late last season.

The 5’10’’ 152-pound forward is coming off a strong season with Delta Academy Prep in which he scored 19 goals with 34 assists in 34 games. The total placed him sixth amongst 2002-born players in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

The 2018 tournament will mark the fifth straight year in which the Vees have had a player at the tournament. Shepard joins Massimo Rizzo and Luke Reid (2017), Jonny Tychonick (2016), Griffin Mendel (2015) and Dante Fabbro and Tyson Jost (2014).
