Capitals Capitalize

Wednesday night the Cowichan Valley Capitals blew past the Penticton Vees in a 5-3 win.  The game started with a goal 12 seconds into the period by the Cowichan Capitals and a power play goal six minutes later for them.  The Vees came back in the second period with three goals in less than four minutes.  Less than 30 seconds into the second period  Ryan Viselli scored an unassisted goal followed less than four minutes later with a power play goal by Curtis McKenzie from Denver Manderson and Zack Josepher.  A minute later the Vees scored their third and last goal of the night when Denver Manderson scored with help from Elias Grossman.  Cowichan scored their third goal of the night nine minutes later.  Former Penticton Vee Anthony Pedicaro helped with an assist in Cowichan?s fourth goal of the night.  With less than 3 minutes left in the third period Cowichan forward Pedicaro scored a power play goal to assure the Capitals their win.  The Penticton Vees outshot the Capitals 26-23 shots.  Denver Manderson ,the BCHL player of the week was named the second star of the night with his goal and assist in the game.

 

The Penticton Vees resume play Friday night when they host the Merritt Centennials for their annual Teddy Bear Toss Night.  All fans are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped stuffed animal to the game to toss on the ice after the Vees score their first goal of the night.  We ask that you please have your stuffed animal in a plastic bag when you toss it.  The Salvation Army will also be accepting non perishable food donations at this game.
