The Penticton Vees look for a 3-0 series lead tonight in Game Three against the Okotoks Oilers, at Viking Rentals Centre. The series shifts to Alberta after the Vees took care of business on home ice over the weekend.

Penticton extended their series lead to 2-0 after their 5-0 win in Game Two on Sunday afternoon. Luke Posthumus and Tristan Petersen each scored twice for the Vees in Sunday’s win. Simon Meier had the other. Ryden Evers had three assists.

Through two games, the Vees have outscored the Oilers 9-0 and have outshot them 78-33. Two dominant efforts for Penticton to open the series. If you include the regular season, the Vees have shutout the Oilers in their last three meetings.

Penticton will continue to rotate goalies, a Will Ingemann gets his second start of the series. He made 19 saves in Game One. He is now 12-4 in 18 career playoff games, posting a 1.59 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. He also has four career shutouts.

The Vees will dress 13 forwards and six defencemen for the second-straight game.

Penticton shouldn’t be bothered with the series shifting to the road, as they had the BCHL’s best road record in the regular season at 21-6-0-0.

Tuesday, the BCHL announced their finalists for the BCHL Coach of the Year award and the Penticton Vees’ Fred Harbinson is one of the three finalists.

Okotoks is hoping a change of scenery helps reignite their offence, as they come back home down 2-0 and still looking for their first goal of this series.

The Oilers were blanked in the first two games of this series and were held to 19 and 14 shots in each of the first two games respectively. Okotoks wasn’t a prolific offensive team in the regular season, as they ranked 19th out of 21 teams in goals in the regular season

Hands down, goaltender Olivier Ciarlo has been the Oilers’ best player in this series. The 20-year-old was excellent in both games in Penticton, despite surrendering four and five goals in each of the first two games. At times, he was the Oilers’ backbone when the Vees took over segments of the first two games. Ciarlo has faced 78 shots in the first two games. He has done his part, the Oilers need to try and find him some run support.

Okotoks was a better home team in the regular season, as 14 of their 21 wins in the regular season came at
