Robson Named BCHL Player of the Week

Penticton Vees goalie Mat Robson has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 30, the league announced Monday.

Over the final two games of the BCHL Playoffs and the first two games of the Western Canada Cup, Robson logged 284.26 minutes in net and turned aside 110 of 117 shots that came his way. He posted a 26-save shutout in the Fred Page Cup-clinching Game 7 road win in Chilliwack where he was 2nd Star. The Toronto product was 2nd Star again in the opener of the WCC as he made 24 saves in a 2-1 overtime win over Battlefords.

Robson had a .940 save percentage for the week and a 1.48 goals against average. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound netminder is committed to the University of Minnesota for next season.
