The Penticton Broncos of the BCJHL changed their name to the Vees in 1975. The name had been popularized in the 1950's with their successful Senior team. While it's a common perception that the name 'Vees' comes from 'Victory' however the name is actually taken from three local varieties of peaches (Vedette, Valiant and Veteran). They changed their name to the Knights in 1979.
