Conway CJHL 1st Star of January

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced its 3 Stars of the month for January, and the Penticton Vees Scott Conway received top billing.

“Scott Conway of the Penticton Vees is the CJHL 1st Star of the Month for January 2016. Conway had 18 goals and 11 assists in helping the Vees go 10-2 to secure top spot in the Interior Division. The native of Basingstoke, England was named 1st Star on four occasions and had three game-winning goals. He had points in each game of the month and had multiple-point outings in nine of Penticton’s 12 games. Conway had three hat tricks in January, including back-to-back in the first two games of the New Year. Conway is committed to NCAA Div. I Providence College for next season.”

Conway is second in the BCHL in scoring with 50 goals and 103 points in just 49 games and has the second-longest active point streak at 16 games; he has 20 goals and 35 points during the streak. This is Conway’s second Star of the Month award, as he was named the 2nd Star for the month of October.

Conway and the Vees are back in action on Friday, February 12th, when they face their HWY 97 rivals, the West Kelowna Warriors at the SOEC; it’s the Vees’ first home game since January 29th and features the two top teams in the Division going head-to-head.
